Projects on Mid-Vancouver Island

In early May 2019 the ground-breaking of our latest Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island project took place, a duplex in the Cowichan Valley.

The duplex, which comprises of one 3-bedroom home and one 4-bedroom home, is situated in the Glen Fields Development off Cowichan Lake Road, near Berkey’s corner. These are the 21st and 22nd homes built by Habitat Mid-Vancouver Island and the first in the Cowichan Valley area.

Many local businesses are working with us on this build, donating goods or labour to the project.  We are constantly searching for ways to improve the energy efficiency of our builds, with the objective of reducing our homes’ ecological footprints and increasing affordability for our homeowners.

Corporate Build days are also taking place, allowing a team building day for businesses in return for a donation to the build. For more information see get involved/sponsor a build

We welcome and encourage volunteers onto our build site – no experience is necessary, but we can accommodate specific requests if you have a preference or skill to offer.
