ReStore

BC’s first ReStore was opened by Habitat Nanaimo in December 2001. There were 19 ReStores in Canada then; now there are 60.

The ReStore is a retail outlet providing a wide variety of affordable new and used building materials and supplies. The proceeds generated from the sales of the ReStore merchandise is used to support Habitat for Humanity Nanaimo’s home building program. We rely on donated building materials and fixtures in resaleable, repairable and/or reuseable condition. The ReStore accepts donations of:

• interior and exterior finishing materials
• lumber
• plumbing materials
• electical wiring and related hardware
• doors and windows
• mouldings and mantles, etc.
• vanities, cabinets and shelving
• vents
• light fittings and framed mirrors
• caulking, glues, sandpaper, tools
• other products related to home construction

To be sure we can accept your donation, please call us at: 250-758-8743 before bringing it in. Free Pick-Up is available.

Since it opened in 2003, Habitat for Humanity Nanaimo’ ReStore has diverted over 1000 tons of waste building materials form the Cedar Landfill. Altogether, Habitat’s 60 Canadian ReStores across Canada saved a total of 12,000 tons from landfills in 2006.
