Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island is hosting a series of free education sessions for homeowners in Nanaimo.

The sessions, which will take place in late May and early June, will cover subjects such as financial planning and insurance, and are open to any homeowner or future homeowner to attend.

Sarah Pachkowsky, Community Engagement Manager at Habitat Mid-Vancouver Island said: “We are running these sessions to provide our Habitat homeowners, and other homeowners in Nanaimo, with useful information which will help them manage their home and financial responsibilities more easily.”

The sessions will be full of useful information with guest speakers from local organisations who can offer expertise on the subject matter.

The Education Workshops will all take place at the Beban Park Social Centre on Wednesday evenings between 7pm and 9pm as follows:

 

  • Wednesday May 23rd – Stratas
  • Wednesday May 30th – Finance 1 – RBC
  • Wednesday June 6th – Finance 2 – RBC
  • Wednesday June 13th – Insurance
  • Wednesday June 20th – Home Maintenance with Pheasant Hill Homes

The sessions are free to attend and you can just turn up on the night, although pre-registration would be preferred.
