Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island has launched a youth volunteer program suitable for those students wishing to fulfil their volunteer hour requirement or just get some great experience for their resume.

The program offers students aged 15 and above the chance to volunteer in one of our ReStores (Nanaimo or Duncan), gaining experience in a number of different areas of work.

The program asks for a commitment of at least 40 hours of volunteering (more is great!) to be worked over a three month period.

Dawn McHarg, ReStore Manager said: “This is a great opportunity for local students to learn a new set of skills while supporting a local not for profit organisation. They will be trained in a number of areas including cashier, merchandising and receiving and can choose to spend more time in an area that interests them the most.”

For more information about the youth volunteer program see the information sheet below.
