Excitement, relief, and gratitude.

These were the emotions Candice Ludvigson felt after finding out she had been accepted to become a Habitat homeowner.

The single mom was having trouble qualifying for a traditional mortgage despite a steady career as a hairdresser and has found being a renter puts her and her children’s living conditions out of her control. The sale of their rental property and the conversion of a lower suite into a noisy Air BnB just two examples of things beyond her control.

Candice says that the opportunity to own a home with Habitat Mid-Vancouver Island will make a huge difference to her and her children Aubrey (7) and Tucker(6).

“Owning my own home has been a major goal in my life for the last few years.  I think every parent wants to give their kids a safe and secure place to call home”.

Candice is honored to be part of our growing Habitat family in the strong Cowichan Valley Community.
