With the support of the Building Material Exchange (BMEx) program and funding from the Regional District of Nanaimo, the newly expanded Nanaimo ReStore is more than just a place to find great deals—it’s designed to keep valuable construction materials in use and out of the landfill.
Building materials stocked at the ReStore are resold to the public and ultimately fund Habitat’s affordable housing builds.
Each year, tens of thousands of tonnes of usable building materials are sent to landfill on Vancouver Island. That’s where the ReStore comes in: it makes reuse practical and accessible.
This initiative helps advance the circular economy, support regional waste diversion goals, and strengthen Habitat’s mission to build safe, affordable housing for local families.
Bring your family, bring your friends, and celebrate the power of reuse with us!
